it's been too long....sorry

Well, I have been going to weight watchers and I have lost maybe 2 more pounds. I have not done especially well with excersise and in fact I have a feeling that I will be up a couple of pounds pretty soon. The past holiday has been a little rough. So, next week I start work and I should do a lot better. Here's hoping!! My goal is to stick to my points this week. Thanks!

Grettle - Nov 13

Last week, I went up a pound instead of going down and still no exercise. :( Reset my starting pound to where I was last Friday.

This week, down a pound from last Friday so success on that score. But, no exercise. Maybe next week?

My goal is to lose 100 pounds before my youngest son returns from his mission in 1 year. I have lost 35 pounds so far by giving up sugar several months ago. I want to exercise more. I plan to walk at least 4 times a week - I have 1/2 mile and 1 mile routes in my neighborhood. I need to set some other health-related goals, but for now I will commit to these two: no sugar and walking 4x week. I feel I will do better if I am accountable to someone - such as this group.

I lost one pound last week and one pound this week. However, I am failing in my exercise goal. It just doesn't get done. I am trying to figure out ways to be better. Here's hoping...Grettle

WELCOME!!

Well, here we go! My name is Erin Hourani and I am the..I can't really think of a word other than mediator, for this group. I am by no means the guru of health and fitness, if you know me you might have been thinking that, but I want to be healthier and more fit so I guess I am qualified. A little information about me.....I am 33 years old, I am married and I have a little boy. My husband is Salah Hourani and my little one's name is Laith. He is 6 months old. We just moved back to the United States from Jordan in June. In Jordan I taught Social Studies in a middle school and I baked alot of treats in my little counter top electric oven. One of the reasons that I have so much work to do to get fit again. Ha ha....but it tasted good. Before I was married in Jan., 2008, I was living in Houston working in the medical center. Before that, I was in California, Provo, mission in Moscow, Russia, Provo, and graduating from Magnolia High School.

I am currently going to Weight Watchers and I have lost about 11 pounds. I am so excited and proud of myself. It may not seem like much to some, but it makes me think that the next 40 are possible....yeah!!

Okay, our first challenge is to set a goal. We want something that is measurable and achievable. Baby steps ladies, we are not Neil Armstrong and we don't need to be making giant leaps. I often find that is when I usually fall on my face. So, I guess I have to make the first goal. Feel free to make one with me and let's put them on the blog. That way we can encourage each other, check up on each other, and share our success, triumph, and realistically some disappointments. The best part is we get to do it together.

My goal this week: (Let me preface this by saying that I love fair food and between the fair last week and the tailgate party this week, my points have not be as strictly adhered to as necessary......) so my goal..

I will stick to my points and only eat outside the house 2 times this week.

Now ladies, let's hear yours......You can post in the comment section or you can email us at huntsvillers@gmail.com and we will post it for you. Put health and fitness in the subject.
Thanks for joining.
